My name is Diane Ashley, and I’m the designer and blogger of Creature Mag. I’m delighted you’ve arrived.
I’ve worked in the home furnishing and construction industries since graduating with a BS in Interior Design from California in 2009. I found a penchant for refurbishing around this period. In 2014, I started this blog to chronicle our real estate and remodelling adventures. Since then, my husband, Jack, and I have refurbished and flipped around a half-dozen homes.
While we have no immediate intentions to flip residences, we are dipping our toes into long-term rentals.
I believe that everyone deserves a home that they enjoy, and that it should not be too expensive. I’m a huge believer in making do with what you have and buying secondhand
Investing in key items and adopting a design style that you love – whether or not it is on vogue – are all good ideas. I hope you find some useful information here that you may use in your own house.
On a personal note, I’m a Texan native that appreciates the simple pleasures of life and can usually be found relaxing on a porch of some sort (preferably with a beer). I call myself a “budget bird” who enjoys a good bargain.
